Contract Role - Codesys Control System Engineer (Remote, Outside IR35)
Our client requires a Control System Engineer with CODESYS experience to support a machine communications upgrade project. This is a remote contract role with occasional visits to the Glasgow office. An interview can be arranged quickly.
Role: Control System Engineer (Codesys)
Rate: Up to 75 per hour (Outside IR35)
Contract: 4 months initially
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Remote (occasional Glasgow visits)
You’ll work on upgrading and improving a machine communication system (Hermes version 1.0 to version 1.6/1.7). This is not a greenfield build. You’ll update existing control software, upgrade to the latest functions, and test PLC code on live machines to ensure smooth operation.
This role suits someone confident in Codesys, PLC programming, and control system integration, with hands-on testing experience in an automation environment.
Skills required:
Codesys experience
PLC programming and IEC (phone number removed) Structured Text knowledge
Experience developing and testing control software on live systems
Comfortable troubleshooting real-world control systems
Desirable:
Familiarity with Hermes 1.6 or similar communication protocols
Experience with Git
Background in automation, mechatronics, or control system engineering
Some exposure to HMI (Android Java/XML)
