Role: Senior/Principal Data Scientist
Locations: Frimley, Preston, Bristol or London-UK
Duration: Permanent/Fulltime Job
Salary: £60,000-70,000 Per Annum (Depending on the Experience level)
Work Model: Hybrid - 3 Days Onsite in a Week in any of the above locations which Consultants are comfortable to work
Key thing: Needs to hold Active Security Clearance/SC Clearance OR able to obtain SC Security Clearance
Experience required : Defence industry or consulting experience
Overview of the role:
As a data scientist at Client you will be working on a broad range of projects as part of a multi-disciplinary team. You will be utilising cutting edge machine learning techniques and an analytical mindset to deliver solutions to clients. Projects range from data exploration and visualisation, to integrating algorithms into software and developing data processing pipelines. You will be empowered to explore new tools and techniques and apply the best tool for the job.
As a senior or principal, we may look to you to manage a technical delivery team, support all members of the team with their professional growth, and sometimes support our Business Development team by lending your expertise and knowledge.
Experience of applying statistical and machine learning techniques solve interesting problems
Knowledge of deep learning and neural network algorithms
Working with unstructured data sources such as images, video and text
Working with Agile project delivery methods
Team leadership and line management
Excellent communication and presentation skills including experience of stakeholder management
An understanding of MLOps processes and tooling eg. MLFlow
Knowledge of modern DevOps practices; Version control (Git), Containerisation (Docker), Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD development approaches
An understanding of web frameworks to help put a solution in the hands of users, such as Flask, Django, FastAPI or Streamlit
Experience of data storage solutions, eg RDMSs such as PostgreSQL, NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, or Cloud provisioned data storage such as S3
A talent for data visualisations and dashboarding
Defence industry or consulting experience
A degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant numerate discipline such as maths, physics, economics, engineering, or similar
