ROLE OVERVIEW:
A leading biotech company based in the Cambridgeshire area is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to join its innovative team. As a Linux Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing the scientific computing infrastructure to support the company’s cutting-edge research activities.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your duties as the Linux Systems Administrator will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
Maintenance and development of Linux infrastructure, both on-premises and in the cloud
Installation, upgrade, and troubleshooting of scientific computing hardware and software
Backup and archiving of scientific data
Maintenance of Oracle databases
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Linux Systems Administrator we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
Relevant degree in a related field
Proven industry experience in building, deploying, and maintaining Linux servers (Red Hat/Rocky Linux)
A working knowledge and practical experience with batch queuing systems (Slurm) and cloud computing, particularly AWS
