Description
FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Java Engineer to work for our client within the retail sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in London.
Our client is looking for an experienced Java Engineer who is skilled in Java, Kafka, Spring and AWS. The ideal candidate will be willing to work with a range of technologies such as AWS, Docker and CloudFormation. You will also have a belief in a DevOps culture, as our client build and own the entire stack, while endeavouring to automate as much as possible.
Responsibilities
Compose well-structured clean code to improve the lives of customers and colleagues
Create supporting infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines to deploy your code into the cloud
Design automated tests including unit, behavioural, volume, performance, security and chaos
Employ agile ways of working to discover, assess and build products, collaborating through scrum, pairing as well as mobbing
Assist in architecting systems and products
Visualise your product’s behaviour in production
Work with data teams, building data informed services and implementing machine learning into back-end systems
Collaborate with product managers delivering innovative led solutions, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Java Engineer with experience in Java, Kafka, Spring and AWS
Excellent experience of writing clean code using Java 17+ with tools and frameworks like Spring, Spring Boot, Maven
Experience with Microservices/microservice architecture
Expert in writing automated tests (TDD/BDD) using tools such as Junit, and Selenium, where appropriate
Experienced with messaging system, preferably Kafka
Able to demonstrate and promote positive attitudes and behaviours, such as collaboration, learning, sharing, respect and motivation
