Are you ready to take your career to the next level? Join our dynamic Infrastructure Team as an Infrastructure Engineer! You’ll play a crucial role in driving stability and innovation within PayPoint Group’s IT Infrastructure as we push the boundaries with next-gen cloud technology and automation.
As an Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of deploying new projects and enhancing our infrastructure through automation. Your key responsibilities will include:
Installing, supporting, and maintaining cutting-edge Windows and Linux technologies.
Managing incidents from start to finish, ensuring swift resolutions.
Demonstrating a deep understanding of both on-premise and cloud infrastructure services.
Ensuring our infrastructure meets all regulatory requirements, including PCI DSS, ISO27001, and Cyber Security Essentials.
Introducing and maintaining standards to ensure consistency across PayPoint environments.
Be responsible for and deliver:
Operational Support: Provide 2nd and 3rd line analysis of incidents and problems, ensuring swift and effective resolutions.
Collaborative Engagement: Work with relevant 3rd party support to assist with incident resolution.
Comprehensive Analysis: Conduct Resolution, Root Cause Analysis, Impact Analysis, and Escalation in a timely manner, with detailed documentation in the ticketing platform.
Compliance and Security: Ensure adherence to all company controls and security standards.
Project Assistance: Support Projects and Infrastructure Delivery, contributing to successful outcomes.
Automation Leadership: Drive automation of infrastructure tasks to guarantee consistent and repeatable results.
Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to existing processes in line with PayPoint and Handepay standards.
Service Enhancement: Promote service improvement through best practices and innovative technologies.
Quality Assurance: Ensure consistency and quality of service, progressing all support tickets in line with operational service levels.
Change Management: Review and approve changes in accordance with the Change Management Process.
Disaster Recovery: Implement, maintain, and test PayPoint DR services as required.
Documentation Updates: Update documentation, policies, and procedures, ensuring they are followed.
On-Call Coverage: Provide on-call support for 1 week out of every 4 per month.
Additional Duties: Perform any other duties as applicable.
What would we like from you?
Proven Production Support or Project Delivery experience
Proven ability to document and explain designs
Detail orientated with strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong Knowledge in the following -
Windows Server OS’s (Ideally from 2016 to 2022)
Full Windows Stack including DHCP, DNS, AD
Linux (Ideally Ubuntu, RedHat and Rocky)
Microsoft Exchange 2016
Microsoft Office 365
Microsoft Azure Stack from Compute, Networking, to Azure Active Directory
Hyper-V
Proven support experience in the following –
VMWare
NetApp
System Center
Cisco, Routers and Switches
Microsoft SQL
IaC Technologies (Ansible, Terraform, etc)
Understanding of security in relation to network, server, applications, data and databases
It would be great if you already have…
PCI-DSS compliance
Proficient in PowerShell Scripting, Bash Scripting or Python
Windows Storage Spaces and Storage Spaces Direct
HPE Hardware
Design of Highly Available Systems
Experience in -
Delivering projects and solutions from inception to completion
Any experience with the following software products:
