About the role
We’re looking for a senior full-stack software engineer who can bring strong development capabilities alongside practical GCP and DevOps experience. You’ll work closely with our CTO and technical founder to build new frontend applications, robust backend services, maintain internal applications, and take ownership of cloud infrastructure where needed. You’ll help bring innovation ideas to life through a range of prototypes and experiments.
This role is ideal for someone who is confident in both frontend and backend engineering within GCP, and also comfortable to pick-up data engineering support.
Duties and responsibilities
Key responsibilities and duties will include:
Lead the development and maintenance of new and existing internal applications
Build new tools and APIs using Python, Cloud Functions, and other GCP services
Build new apps for internal and external users
Collaborate on a range of innovation and R&D prototypes
Administer our GCP environment (permissions, service accounts, monitoring)
Develop and support data engineering pipelines and workflows
Collaborate with analysts and dashboard developers to connect frontend tools with reliable backend systems
Help reduce single points of failure in our tech stack
Contribute to tech strategy, tool selection, and platform evolution
Skills we’re looking for
Must-Haves:
3–6 years of experience in software engineering, ideally with exposure to early-stage or lean environment
Strong backend programming skills including Python and SQL
Strong frontend experience across a variety of languages/frameworks
Working knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP): IAM, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Firebase Hosting and Authentication
Experience managing CI/CD pipelines and monitoring tooling
Comfortable working independently and making technical decisions
Nice-to-Haves:
Familiarity with Tableau and how it connects to data pipelines
Any geospatial experience
Experience working with serverless or microservice architectures
Knowledge of basic data engineering concepts (e.g., ETL, batch jobs, data quality)
