AI and Data Science drives Atom’s automation and digitalisation initiative. AI and Data Science leverage Big Data technologies to maximise the returns from our data assets, exploratory analysis and predictive models
As a Junior Data Scientist you will partner with all departments within the bank, delivering insights across a wide spectrum of activities and working with external data & analytics providers using statistical modelling,; machine learning,; and generative AI. Atom’s demand for sophisticated analytics will continue to grow, creating a dynamic environment for continuous skill development and career progression.
You will:
Develop and implement various types of predictive models, segmentation strategies, optimisation algorithms and data mining analysis including:
Predictive models and analysis to drive pricing decisions and understand customer behaviour.
Simulation models to help optimise operational processes and quantify and manageoperational risks.
Deliver end-user solutions enabling internal customers to utilise predictive models to perform what-if analyses.
Monitor and maintain models to ensure that they remain fit for purpose in a regulated environment.
Support the delivery of analysis to support key strategic projects and business initiatives.
Provide peer review and challenge to analysis and models developed by colleagues in the team.
What do we need from you?
Bachelor’s or master’s Degree in a numerate discipline (e.g. Maths/Statistics/Economics or similar)
Understanding of a statistical and machine learning modelling technique for the purpose of classification or regression problem solving. e.g. support vector machines; neural networks; linear and logistic regression; decision trees; random forests.
Experience of programming in Python or similar
Proven ability to retrieve and process data from a variety of data sources, with basic understanding of a variant of SQL desirable.
Be a good communicator with a self-starter mindset.
