On-site London - AWS System Engineer
Basic Qualifications:
Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Proficient in Linux system administration.
Scripting/automation experience (BASH, Python, Perl, etc.).
Knowledge of networking (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, routing, HTTP).
Strong troubleshooting skills across the stack.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with cloud computing and system design.
Production environment experience.
Experience with monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, Grafana, Elastic, etc.).
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with development teams to deploy AWS services reliably.
Improve processes for service release, monitoring, and patching.
Troubleshoot and resolve performance and stability issues.
Ensure operational excellence and minimize out-of-hours support pain.
Day-to-Day Activities:
Use Linux to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
Keep software updated and systems efficient.
Analyze system trends and capacity metrics.
Communicate and collaborate across teams.
Adapt to ambiguity and focus on customer needs.
