About careless™
We’re building a digital-first insurance platform from the ground up — designed for the next generation of customers who expect simple, fast, and transparent protection. We’ve just launched our first policy (Personal Belongings cover), and we’re scaling fast, with a product roadmap packed with renters, travel and home insurance, all powered by automation and AI.
The Role
We’re looking for a talented and proactive Full Stack Developer with a frontend focus to join our early team. You’ll be primarily responsible for the customer-facing experience across our React Native iOS and Android apps, but you’ll also collaborate with our backend developer to support platform logic and integration needs.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to grow into a Senior Developer or future CTO role in a high-growth startup. We’re ideally looking for a younger developer with solid experience, based in London, and excited by building consumer-facing products in an AI-first company.
Tech Stack Overview:
• Frontend: React Native (iOS + Android), Expo, Retool
• Backend: C#, .NET 8, ASP.NET Core
• Database: PostgreSQL
• Infrastructure & CI/CD: AWS, Heroku, GitHub Actions
• Analytics/Monitoring: Sentry
• Authentication/Payments: Auth0, Stripe
• Integrations:
• getAddress (Address verification)
• 46elks (SMS/Phone Verification)
• Cloudinary (CDN for static assets)
• Postmark (Transactional email)
• Claims Consortium Group, ClaimSorted & Synergy Cloud (Claims processing)
• AI: OpenAI API for automation, text completion & classification
What we’re looking for:
• Strong experience in React Native and mobile UX/UI development
• Solid understanding of app release workflows via Expo
• Comfortable working with .NET backend services or willing to learn
• Ability to collaborate closely with our backend developer on feature rollout and integration
• Based in or near London – we value in-person problem-solving and creative sessions
• Interest in AI/automation and excitement
• Ambition to grow with the company and step into a senior or leadership engineering role over time
Nice to haves:
• Experience working on early-stage products or startups
• Familiarity with payment platforms like Stripe
• Prior work with secure integrations (e.g. fintech, health, insurance)
