Aurora Energy Research is based in Oxford and currently we are benefiting from a hybrid working model, working three days from the office and two days from home, as per our policy. Would you be open working in a hybrid basis?

Based in our Software team in Oxford, you will lead the design of the User Experience across software solutions, ensuring they are easy to use, intuitive, and delight users. The successful candidate will have a passion for delivering a great user experience and a proven track record delivering this on complex software products.
The opportunity will allow you to play a key role in designing software that powers major decisions in the global energy transition, whilst working as part of a fun and highly experienced Software Team in a fast-growing global business.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design of the user experience across software solutions to ensure they are easy to use, intuitive, and delight users.
Work closely with the Product Team and customers to innovate solutions that really solve user problems.
Produce UI mock-ups to support the development of the software and to support customer demos and feedback before the software is built.
Lead the user experience from concept through to delivery and continuous improvement.
Work closely with the rest of the development team to ensure solutions are practical and cost-effective to implement.
Coach the rest of the development team in UX/UI principles and practices and foster a deep understanding of and empathy for the needs of users.
Define and document key UI/UX patterns and principles.
Always look to improve the ways of working within the software and product teams.

Required attributes:
A proven track record for designing easy-to-use, intuitive user interfaces for complex software products.
Be able to create interactive mockups that allow internal stakeholders and users to provide clear and useful feedback.
Strong interpersonal skills and a great team player.
Delivery-oriented, decisive, and gets things done.
Exceptional problem-solving skills.
Experience coaching and training.
Attention to detail and ability to switch fluently between high-level strategic considerations and details of implementation.
Desirable attributes:
An eye for visual design.
