Perform as a technical subject matter expert for wired and wireless networks. Assist with installation and support of both wireless and ethernet switched networks across EMEA/AP. Participate in current state network analysis, requirements gathering for hardware refresh and customer-driven change moments. Assist Lead Network Engineer in architecture and infrastructure design. Provide estimates for new site locations by creating a bill of materials against standard architectures. Create pre- and post-install technical design/implementation documentation. Work as part of the team to define platform and product roadmaps. Work with wireless engineers to survey sites, validate network health, and propose configuration changes to optimize the wireless footprint. Define/analyse heat maps for new site wireless deployments. Work with network operations centres to assist with incident management. Coach and mentor others.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in a Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience in Enterprise Networking technologies. Proven experience in engineering and supporting networks based on Cisco, Arista, and Aruba technologies. Experience with RF and designing WiFi networks for campus locations. Knowledge of IEEE wireless standards (802.11 g,n,ac,ax), 2.4, 5, and 6Ghz. Experience with ServiceNow for incident and change management. Strong troubleshooting skills. Knowledge of routing, switching, and network technologies such as Spanning Tree, 802.1Q, Port-Channels, 802.1x, QoS, VLANs, SVIs, and Multicast. Knowledge of engineering tools – Wireshark, PCAP, SSH, Putty. Good understanding of security infrastructure, including firewall concepts. Requires professional written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to function effectively both individually and within a team.
