Business Analysis Chapter
Our Business Analysis department plays a crucial role in driving our company’s growth, and we are committed to providing our team the latest tools and techniques to help them excel and take us to new heights. Role Summary
We are transforming our technology in our Commercial space, moving towards a new target architecture, and rapidly delivering projects and solutions for our business colleagues. The tribe is responsible for understanding the entire Commercial landscape and implementing best in class solutions to meet the demands of the business. Together with your team, your vision and ambition will contribute to shaping our tribe’s roadmap.
At Dunelm we are working in a hybrid manner. While working at home is certainly an option, colleagues are encouraged to make opportunities for meaningful face to face meetings at either our support centres – Syston, Leicester or Bush House, London – stores, or distribution centres.
You will also join our thriving Business Analysis Chapter. This is the home of all things Business Analysis at Dunelm, where you will give and receive support to work on both your competencies and your craft.
What this role requires of you:
At Dunelm, the role of the BA involves collaborating with various functions depending on the project phase. This includes working with Product Managers, in-house Developers, Quality Advocates, and 3rd party partners.
Analysis and domain
• Collaborate closely with business and commercial stakeholders to clarify and document existing processes as well as facilitate the discussion and consensus on to-be processes together with relevant stakeholders from both Business and Tech
• Proactively identify and drive business analysis tasks
• Analyse business requirements and continuously collaborate with business stakeholders and development team in translating requirements into user stories to deliver solutions to end users
• Articulate clear scope of work, purpose and acceptance criteria utilising Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) where appropriate to aid comprehension
• Produce concise and relevant process documentation to support requirement understanding
• Define user training needs and support production of materials where appropriate
• Support the Product Manager to help create and share their vision, keep a relevant backlog with iterative development plans
• Understand the technical solutions and validate that proposals will address business needs
• Facilitate meetings, workshops and ceremonies where required
Essential skills:
• Previous exposure to 3rd Party Saas solutions and implementations
• The ability to build strong relationships and networks, with both internal and external stakeholders
• Experience working to tight deadlines - at pace where necessary
• Effective cross functional collaboration – with product, delivery, tech and business
• Effective communication skills including verbal, written and presentation skills
• Maintain clear and correct documentation to succinctly convey information to ensures that readers can quickly understand the content
• Proficiency in MS tools, Lucid Chart, Jira, Confluence, Slack, Teams, collaboration tools such as Miro or similar
• An inquisitive mindset, curious about how systems, processes, and operations work
Desirable skills:
• Experience with supporting the implementation of commercial applications, assortment/range planning or merchandise financial Planning tools
• Experience in the retail industry
• Previous Agile & Waterfall experience is advantageous
