Description
💥Your mission as a Vita Mojo Lead Data Engineer, is to develop and enhance our data warehouse, data APIs, and reporting capabilities alongside the data team. You will lead the team on the technical side to ensure the correct solutions are built and delivered. Additionally, you will collaborate with product and business stakeholders to shape the future of our data offerings, providing strong support, innovative ideas, and effective solutions.
The day-to-day
Lead and Facilitate: Oversee data team ceremonies and manage the day-to-day delivery of projects, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
_Collaborate Cross-functionally:_Participate in key meetings within the engineering department and across other departments to stay informed about business requirements and product developments.
_Strategise and Plan:_Work closely with our VP of Product to translate business insights into a comprehensive roadmap for the data team.
Hands-on Development: Actively engage in the development and enhancement of our data warehouse, ETL tools, API integrations, and reporting systems.
_Infrastructure Management:_Support the building and maintenance of robust infrastructure for all data systems, ensuring reliability and scalability.
Incident Response: Participate in incident calls and provide critical data insights as needed to support decision-making and problem resolution.
About you
_Database Management:_Strong skills in database administration with a comprehensive understanding of managing data queries, indexes, and structures.
Proven Leadership: Demonstrated experience in leading data teams and developing data and reporting products in previous roles.
Data Warehousing & ETL Expertise: In-depth knowledge of data warehousing and ETL systems, with hands-on experience using Redshift, Python, and custom-built serverless Lambda functions on AWS.
AWS Proficiency: Extensive experience with AWS services, including Redshift, Lambda, and ECS clusters.
It’d be a bonus if you:
_Preferred Experience with Our Toolstack:_Bonus points if you have experience working with any of the following tools: Thoughtspot, CubeJs, Redash, dbt, and dbt Cloud.
Broader Software Development Experience: Experience in developing software products beyond data-related projects is advantageous, as it will help in understanding the broader platform and data sources.
