This QA Engineer role is an exciting opportunity to work on our machine learning assisted rotoscoping project as part of our A.I Research team.
As a QA Engineer, your work will vary from carrying out release checks and verifying fixed bugs, to investigating rotoscoping workflows and assisting the development team in designing new features. We are looking for a passionate and creative QA Engineer, who thrives at solving tough problems in a dynamic environment, and enjoys keeping up with the latest technological advances in VFX.
You’ll work closely with other members of the team to ensure that product releases meet the required standards. You will also have the opportunity to liaise with clients and other teams within Foundry, including Documentation, and Support.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES.
Testing and providing feedback on new features in development
Understanding competing software and suggesting improvements and workflows
Work with the Support Team to log, track and respond to bugs from clients
Work with software developers to prioritise bugs and define development targets
Understand clients’ needs in order to suggest product workflows and new feature requests
Support the development team in maintaining key client contacts
Liaise with clients to set up test-cases for bugs and new features
Release checking products and overseeing delivery to clients
Setting up test footage and test cases based on client footage and requirements
Manually evaluating and benchmarking new rotoscoping algorithms
Creating datasets for machine learning training
Setting up and updating automated tests for functionality and workflows
Requirements
THE ESSENTIALS.
A degree in a Visual Effects related subject, or equivalent experience reflecting the requirements of the position
Commercial rotoscoping experience
Experience with Nuke
Excellent communication skills - ability to make yourself heard and present your views in a persuasive, influential way
Good technical skills in at least one of the following operating systems: Windows, Linux or Mac OSX.
A knack for analytic problem solving, fault-finding, and troubleshooting
Well-organised with the ability to prioritise, multi-task and work with minimal supervision
Highly self-motivated and a great team player

Python scripting experience
Experience with other rotoscoping software
Experience and knowledge of machine learning and A.I.
