Description
As a Junior Data Scientist at TFG you will be applying data science solutions to produce insightful analysis to tackle client problems. As such, your role will span across a range of responsibilities:
Advanced Insights:
Support in the development and application of predictive models, machine learning algorithms, and statistical techniques to derive actionable insights from sports-related datasets.
Coding & Programming:
Utilise programming languages like R, Python, and SQL to execute data analyses and implement machine learning models.
Collaboration and Communication:
Engage with cross-functional teams to integrate data insights into overarching business strategies and services.
Communicate analytical findings in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Data Exploration and Visualization:
Explore and preprocess sports-related data to identify patterns and trends.
Create clear and visually impactful data visualisations to effectively communicate findings to internal teams and external clients.
Innovation and Learning:
Stay informed about the latest trends, tools, and methodologies in data science.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of analytical capabilities by exploring new approaches and technologies using protected R&D time.
Quality Assurance:
Play a role in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of data analyses and models through rigorous testing and validation processes.
Requirements
Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
Experience required:
0-2 years of experience in data analysis, advanced analytics, and statistical modelling.
Data Analysis:
Basic programming proficiency in R, Python or another programming language.
Familiarity with fundamental data wrangling packages like dplyr or pandas.
Exposure to relational databases and basic data cleaning techniques.
Understanding of data visualisation principles to effectively communicate insights.
Sports knowledge:
A keen interest in learning about various sports.
Communication and teamwork skills:
Ability to articulate technical concepts to individuals with non-analytical backgrounds.
Aptitude for collaborative work within an agile team environment.
Ability to extract the important narratives from data.
