Summary of Role
As a UX Lead, you will play a critical role in delivering user-centred product experiences that have a meaningful impact on our clients’ business objectives. You will work across the product lifecycle, utilising your broad skillset in research, UX and UI design. You will be adaptable and able to work on complex products or challenges with high levels of ambiguity. You will be a confident communicator, able to lead design on your assigned projects, and additionally, you will help develop the internal design team, taking on line management responsibilities for the design team.

Key Responsibilities
Plan and conduct research activities for discovery or validation work, Conduct ad-hoc reviews of the quality of your work and the work of others, Create and maintain research deliverables, Share research outputs with your stakeholders and development team so it can be incorporated effectively into their work, Collaborate with clients to shape a competitive product vision, Identify ways in which this vision can be achieved, including non-digital opportunities, Identify assumptions and risks, Collaborate with Product Owners, Managers, or Business Analysts to ensure the backlog represents the needs of users, Coordinate other designers when working as part of a team, Create compelling design work across fidelities, Lead idea generation activities and workshops, Ensure your work is accessible, Build design systems from scratch, Demonstrate how your designs will work across devices and touchpoints, Articulate the rationale behind your work to stakeholders (including C-Suite) and colleagues in other disciplines, Mentor other designers, Represent the organisation externally (such as at conferences, meet-ups, social media). Monitor the performance of the UX team in terms of quality and speed on each project and recommend mentoring and changes to resources so needs are met given project requirements. Collaborate with developers to ensure that the UX team is delivering work in a practical way for the development team and designs are within the technical restraints that developers have.
Key Requirements, Skills Knowledge & Expertise
Key Requirements
The ideal candidate would have the following skills/experience: Strong background in leading design work and design teams, Experience in strategically shaping new initiatives with senior stakeholders, Experience in mentoring other designers, either formally or informally, Good understanding of agile methodologies, especially scrum, Experience navigating sensitive commercial relationships, Understanding of empathetic design principles, At least 6 years as a Product Designer or closely related role (e.g. UX Consultant, User Researcher).
