Description
AMPHICO is seeking a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to spearhead the technical advancements within our innovative portfolio of material technologies. Positioned at the heart of our mission, this role calls for an individual with profound expertise in material science or chemistry and a strong background in applying machine learning to material development. As our CTO, you will be the driving force behind AMPHICO’s future technical endeavors, steering our team towards groundbreaking achievements in sustainable material innovation.
Lead all of the technical strategy, development, and innovation at AMPHICO, focusing on sustainable materials.
Guide the company’s transformation in harnessing machine learning for the exploration of new material composition and the enhancement of manufacturing processes, aiming to accelerate development.
Align AMPHICO’s patent portfolio with the company’s commercial goals and plan for key IP protection to further increase our position in the relevant market.
Be responsible for proper maintenance of all laboratory and production equipment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Represent the company in technical conversation with AMPHICO’s clients.
Represent the company in technical conversation with AMPHICO’s manufacturing partners.
Represent the company in investor presentation and communication.
Lead in person conversation and factory-site visits at AMPHICO’s manufacturing partners facilities in Asia, Europe and the US.
Qualifications and Requirements:
PhD (or equivalent technical expertise from previous commercial development roles) in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or a related field, with 3-5 years experience in polymer processing and development.
Experience in applying Machine Learning for either the material discovery phase or manufacturing process optimisation.
Proven leadership, ideally in a startup environment or at an innovation arm of a larger corporation, with roles such as Tech Lead, Head of Tech/Science, or CTO.
Strong vision for innovation and sustainability in material science.
Location: London. Applicants must be based in or willing to relocate to London and have the right to work in the UK prior to application.
Benefits
Salary range: £50k-£65k + Stock Option, based on experience and qualifications.
25 days Holiday per year (excluding Bank Holidays)
