Description
Hybrid requirements: This role has flexible working patterns.
The BI Developer is a key role supporting the growth of our Data and AI services. The BI Developer will work with clients and our team to develop and design analytical data solutions to generate insight from data, with a focus on the middle- and front-end of the solution, and cover the E2E solution for low-complexity data engineering and storage requirements.
Using their expertise of the latest best practices and security considerations, they will take technical ownership over the delivery of BI solutions, and draw on assistance from other expertise across the organisation as required. They will also support the development of UBDS best practices and approaches for analytics, and coach the wider organisation and clients on analytical tooling and other best practices for handling and using data, including across pre-sales and project activities.
Responsibilities
Hands-on development and designing of analytical solutions and products for both client and internal audiences.
Support project teams in client delivery to capture technical BI requirements.
Produce design documentation to present and iterate to customers and their governance boards.
Support and run relevant client training, workshops, or handover of technical solutions.
Contribute to the data practice as a BI/Analytics expert, identifying the latest technical and best practices by attending conferences, meet-ups, webinars and reading technical blogs and articles, and sharing relevant knowledge with our data community.
Building strong working relationships, with the team, customers, and 3rd parties to enable successful product delivery.
Proactively respond to changes in scope and devise options to present to the client or delivery lead.
Maintain and acquire personal, role relevant technical accreditations.
Work with the practice to increase the visibility and credibility of the data team internally and externally, for example through thought leadership articles or contributing to analytics hackathons.
Support creation of analytics best practices and methodologies within the data team and across the wider org
About You
Microsoft Power BI Experience
Microsoft Azure Data Stack Experience (Azure Datafactory, Synapse Analytics, Fabric, Azure SQL, Azure Data Lake, Databricks)
Data Modelling & Architecture Experience
AWS Data Stack Knowledge (Redshift, S3, Glue, Athena, Databricks)
Business Intelligence Tooling Knowledge (Tabelau, QuickSight, Flourish)
Python/PySpark/SQL Coding
