JOB DESCRIPTION: Project Engineer - machinery, equipment, manufacturing

As our new Project Engineer, you will lead the end-to-end development on engineering projects - aligning with our defined Product Roadmap.

Reporting to our Engineering Manager, you’ll oversee product strategy execution from conceptual design and industrialisation through manufacturing launch and ongoing delivery (the whole project). You will have an experienced Engineer to assist you in your project delivery as well as the support of the wider multi-disciplinary engineering team (mechanical, electrical, software etc).

Your mission (if you choose to accept it) is to deliver the best-in-class products on time, to budget, and in line with our market’s expectations.

You’ll be joining a large engineering team of 15+, delivering products that have a direct impact in making the Aviation industry greener and more sustainable.

YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: Project Engineer – machinery, equipment, manufacturing

· Product Roadmap Execution -translate the strategic Product Roadmap into actionable development projects - defining milestones, resources, risks, and success criteria.
· Project Management - own product development from concept through commercialisation; ensure targeted objectives - cost, schedule, performance, reliability - are met.
· Product Management - propose and approve the technical choices through rigorous internal processes. Contribute to cost reduction projects and reliability improvements by proposing root cause and solution.
· Industrialisation Oversight - lead design transfer to manufacturing - aligning with suppliers, quality and production teams - to guarantee robust, repeatable, and scalable production. Provide an efficient Bill of Materials (BOMs) to reduce shortages and streamline production.
· Delivery Management - oversee major manufacturing contracts and volume deliveries; ensure schedules, quality standards, and customer commitments are honoured.
· Cross-Functional Leadership, Risk & Issue Management, Documentation & Reporting and Team Leadership

YOUR BACKGROUND: Project Engineer – machinery, equipment, manufacturing

Ideally, you will have:

· Considerable experience with product development projects within manufacturing - ideally within heavy equipment or industrial systems but we’re open to any types of machinery.
· The ability to manage product development projects: planning, execution, milestone tracking, and delivering projects to a plan.
· Experience in industrialisation: design-for-manufacturability, process ramp-up, and quality controls.
· Strong familiarity with ERP/MRP systems, BOM and document release control, engineering change processes, and production workflows (Works Orders).
· The ability to influence, communicate at all levels and lead cross-disciplinary teams aligning stakeholders.
· B.Eng or in a relevant engineering subject such as mechanical, electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing or Aerospace Engineering.

We currently have a permanent vacancy for a PMO Analyst to work alongside the Programme Management Team for our Government client. This position is a full time, permanent role and applicants must have DV clearance or be willing to undergo the clearance process.

The programme are looking for a detail oriented and proactive individual to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of a large and complex programme of work, helping to successfully deliver by ensuring adherence to governance, standards and best practices. You will be self-motivated and be able to work autonomously to achieve day to day objectives with significant results on project or operational deliverables. You must be an effective written and verbal communicator, comfortable directly engaging with customers and colleagues. You must also demonstrate an analytical and systematic approach to technical challenges.

  • Able to demonstrate experience in a PMO or Project role successfully delivering PMO outputs.
  • Strong attention to detail, capable of interpreting complex information.
  • Good interpersonal skills and judgement for dealing with both internal and external stakeholders to develop strong working relations to support achieving objectives.
  • Ability to engage and work within a multi-functional programme team comprising both customer, supplier and internal staff (awareness of engineering principles desirable)

Job Overview

Reporting to a Director, the Project Manager will be overseeing projects of varying values and diverse natures. This will primarily be Retail Projects (Morrisons and Waitrose Supermarkets) but in time may include commercial projects, MOD, MOJ, schools, care homes and upgrade works for values between £5,000 and £10m.

Our client isa leading UK commercial property maintenance and refurbishment contractor, headquartered near Peterborough. It delivers reactive repairs, planned maintenance, full refurbishments, roofing, plumbing, electrical, painting, decorating, and landscaping services across London, the Home Counties, and East Anglia to keep more than 200 clients properties safe, compliant, and operational. Due to an increase workload, the company is looking to add a Facilities Project Manager to the the team.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Managing a broad portfolio of properties.
  • Dealing with client on daily basis picking up enquires and feeding them back into the office to the relevant department ( Interiors, AC, Plumbing and electrical or subcontract)
  • Ensuring quotes are turned around in a timely manner .
  • The Facilities/Project Manager is expected to create accurate quotations, ensuring approved works are delivered to client requirement.
  • All RAMS, permits and access permits are submitted in time via internal admin.
  • Business development with current and potential new client around Peterborough and Cambridge areas.
  • Flexible role within office, client sites and working from home.
  • This is a high level of workload, proactive and requires a client focused person backed by a office support.
  • Technical knowledge in building compliance ( FRAs, water tests, fire alarm testing & fire doors certification)
  • Understanding of Mechanical, electrical, plumbing and building fabric would be ideal although internal resource to survey & quote.

  • Technically knowledgeable & practical solid understanding of building compliance (e.g., Fire Risk Assessments, water/fire alarm testing, fire doors), plus good grasp of MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) and building fabric even if supported by internal surveys/teams.

A growing organisation is seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager to oversee and lead site operations across their projects portfolio. In this role, they will ensure all activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. Working closely with the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will take projects from initial planning through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys ownership, driving results, and contributing to high-quality project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply a strong Health and Safety mindset, identifying potential risks and promptly reporting issues to support the safety of self and others.
  • Ensure all work commences with RAMS and job descriptions, providing pre-start site assessments where required.
  • Conduct inductions and communicate site-specific information including asbestos survey findings, tenant vulnerabilities, parking, and all aspects of H&S to site teams.
  • Carry out continuous risk assessments, updating RAMS throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Perform health and safety audits, providing feedback to engineers and liaising with the H&S business partner as required.
  • Inspect tools, PPE, and equipment to ensure safe operation and compliance.
  • Maintain good site housekeeping and safe working practices.
  • Ensure sites are completed and cleared to customer satisfaction.
  • Provide weekly reports to the Operations Manager on all managed and inspected sites.
  • Attend site and client meetings to provide updates and feedback.
  • Act as an ambassador for the organisation, promoting its name and values.
  • Handover installations and provide system demonstrations.
  • Complete stock checks at the start and end of projects.
  • Produce O&M documentation on project completion.
  • Manage QS Electrical certification and upload RAMS to customer share files.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents under guidance from the H&S business partner.
  • Encourage and track near-miss reporting from site teams.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and other H&S communications.
  • Undertake any other duties as required by the line manager or CEO.

Candidate Profile:

  • Holds a recognised Health and Safety qualification (e.g., SMSTS).
  • Proven track record in managing engineers and coordinating site operations.
  • Competent knowledge of Electrical and Fire Alarm installation.
  • Solid construction industry knowledge with experience in safe working practices.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Good level of IT literacy.
