Role:

  • As Engineering Project Manager you will act as primary customer facing engineering representative.
  • The Engineering Project Manager is responsible for driving progress, following up on actions, and proactively chasing stakeholders where required to ensure projects move forward without delay.
  • Plan, manage, and deliver engineering projects in accordance with agreed project plans, customer requirements, and company procedures.
  • Maintain ownership of project timelines and ensure that agreed milestones are achieved.
  • Actively monitor project progress and proactively chase internal and external stakeholders to ensure actions are completed on time.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the required quality standards.
  • Provide regular project updates through internal project review meetings and reports to the Senior Management Team.
  • Maintain clear project documentation and ensure traceability throughout the project lifecycle in line with internal procedures.
  • Ensure all technical, tooling, documentation, quality, and process requirements are completed in line with the relevant procedure and verified prior to the release of new products into production.
  • Own and manage the NPI process in accordance with QSP 7.1.101.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities required to successfully introduce new products into production.
  • Ensure project timelines are maintained by driving accountability across the business for delivery of agreed actions.
  • Manage the Engineering Change process in accordance with QSP 7.3.101.
  • Coordinate the review, approval, and implementation of engineering changes across the business.
  • Ensure timely responses from relevant stakeholders by proactively chasing approvals, technical input, and documentation.
  • Track and report the progress of Engineering Changes, ensuring effective communication internally and to customers.

Essential Requirements:

  • Have demonstrable project management skills in a technical engineering focused industry.
  • Minimum HND in an Engineering discipline.
  • Previous experience of supporting new products into production.
  • Experience of managing projects with multifunctional teams.
  • An understanding of working to ISO 9001, with ISO 13485 highly desirable.
  • Experience of working with customers to solve problems.
  • Motivation and drive to see product from customer requirement through to manufacture.
  • Full UK Driving License to visit customer sites.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing new product into production successfully
  • Experience of writing proposals or tender documents and providing quotations to meet customer specifications.
  • Able to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline
  • Experience of sales and delivering NPI in the medical market
  • Experience of managing customers through CRM software
  • Project management qualification such as APM or Prince2.
  • Experience of ERP systems, specifically WinMan
  • IOSH Managing Safely
