This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HGV Technician to join our Market leading Specialist Vehicles Division at Nationwide Platforms. As a workshop-based HGV Technician you will work within a busy depot as part of a team to inspect, repair and maintain our HGV and light commercial vehicles. In this role we look for people with an enthusiastic, pro-active approach and the relevant qualifications or experience in the associated industries. Responsibilities include: -

  • Support the Workshop Service Manager in the effective running of the Depot workshop within the region.
  • Carry out pre-delivery roadworthiness inspections (PDI) of machines at depot as required, and in conformance with manufacturer’s specification, company policy and the regulations affecting the use. Ensure that there is no deficiency or defect likely to affect the safe working of a machine. Notify workshop service manager of any defective or unsafe equipment.
  • Repair machines at depot to ensure conformance with manufactures specification and company policy.
  • To complete planned preventative maintenance activities (PPM) including maintaining the appearance of the fleet to corporate standard.
  • Handover machines to customers and familiarise customers with safe machine operation in accordance with company procedures.
  • Act as an ambassador for the company, providing a high standard of customer care and being polite and professional always. Relay appropriate customer queries to depot staff as required.
  • Accurately complete all relevant paperwork including engineer’s report, off hire, pre/delivery inspection and service sheets.
  • Update system on machine status change i.e. PDI carried out, machine under repair, statutory Inspection completed.
  • Prepare vehicles (and trailers where applicable) for MOT test.

About you: -

  • Relevant HGV general maintenance qualification to level 2, and proven experience servicing and prepping vehicles to MOT standard.
  • Have a mature outlook and the ability to prioritise tasks and work well under pressure.
  • Understand the importance of compliance with statutory and company own policy service/inspection schedules relating to roadworthiness.
  • HGV licence would be an advantage.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Load Testing Technician / Site Testing Engineer include:

  • Testing Operations: Carry out on-site load testing and structural testing activities across a range of engineering and construction projects
  • Site Equipment Setup: Install, assemble and prepare load testing equipment, temporary systems and monitoring devices on customer sites

The Role:

As an AV Commissioning Engineer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality AV, VC, and collaboration projects. You’ll take charge of on-site and off-site commissioning, testing, and finalising systems to meet client expectations.

You’ll also work closely with colleagues, clients, and subcontractors to troubleshoot, guide, and make sure everything is running smoothly.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Commissioning and debugging systems during project delivery, ensuring everything is to spec.
  • Preparing AV racks and systems in the office, using checklists to ensure all equipment is ready before heading to site.
  • Working with the Technical Manager on Crestron Control and Audio DSP programming, keeping all files organised.
  • Liaising with clients to handle networking aspects like Crestron NVX, Dante Audio, IPTV, and digital signage systems.
  • Training clients and end-users to ensure they’re confident with the installed systems.
  • Providing technical advice to junior staff and subcontractors to maintain company standards.
  • Conducting audits, logging snags or changes, and handing over final documentation to the Project or Design Manager for system drawings.
  • Supporting Sales and Design teams by offering product advice and technical insights.
  • Providing second-line support to the Service Team when needed.

About You:

You’ll be confident in your abilities and have the qualifications to back it up, with certifications in some of the following:

  • QSC, Biamp, Crestron, Lightware, Shure, Sennheiser, Dante.

Certifications like CTS/CTS-I, Avixa training, Microsoft MTR, or network-specific qualifications would also be great, but not essential.

You’ll have strong technical knowledge, a professional attitude, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in.

Job description:

We are looking to recruit a Lift and Escalators Service Engineer to join our Team working in the North West of England. The successful candidate will be responsible for the carrying out of planned preventative maintenance regimes as determined by the contract terms on portfolio lift/escalator equipment for the North Region and Scotland. They will also be responsible for the completion of Schindler safety inspections and closure of any open non-conformity to current legislation or standards., improvement of equipment condition to improve the time between technical call-backs and reduce lift/escalator equipment downtime. Works will also include minor repair work and the lifecycle replacement of components. Adherence to all company safety and conduct procedures. They will also be expected to cover the ’on call’ rota for out of hours calls, maintenance and repairs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Carry out routine servicing of lift/escalator equipment, including minor repair work and the routine replacement of components and in accordance with approved company procedures (PPE, PDA, Expert+ etc) across multi-unit sites and third-party interfaces
  • To rectify and reduce faults on lift/escalator equipment in cases of breakdown and check to confirm correct functioning
  • Checking the lift/escalator function as part of maintenance, checks to include, speed, motor start/stop, weight, noise, temperature and power supplies using approved company issued tooling and protective equipment
  • Carry out the routine inspection and adjustment in accordance with approved procedures. Reinstate lift/escalator and complete service documentation
  • Carrying out expert fault finding and diagnostic procedures using a range of techniques, technical manuals and appropriate test equipment, restoring equipment to service, including third party interfaces. Competence is required to make effective use of written or graphical information
  • Carry out Site surveys
  • Employees are required to carry out all works in accordance with the Company’s Quality Corporate policy
