Overview

An experienced Charging Features Verification Engineer is required to support delivery within a high-performance Charging Systems Verification and Validation function. This contract role is based in Gaydon and sits within a Charging Systems Delivery Group responsible for the validation of next-generation EV charging technologies.

The successful candidate will act as the primary verification point of contact for charging features, working closely with Charging Product Squads, Propulsion Product Groups, Body and Digital Platform teams, and Central Systems Integration. This is a hands-on vehicle-level validation role within a fast-paced electrification programme.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Execute validation and verification activities across EV Charging Systems including DC-DC converters, On-Board Chargers, AC and DC charging architectures, and BMS integration.
  2. Develop, maintain, and execute structured test plans, test cases, and automated or manual test scripts aligned to system requirements.
  3. Conduct vehicle-level software release testing across multiple programmes and build phases.
  4. Perform functional, performance, robustness, and integration testing using real EVSE units, charging emulators, power analysers, and diagnostic tools.
  5. Capture and analyse logs, identify root causes of charging faults, communication failures, or interoperability issues.
  6. Verify issue resolution across vehicle, labcar, and Vehicle-in-Loop environments, including SIMS, AIMS, and defect tracking systems.

Technical Capability

  • Hands-on experience with EV charging systems, high-voltage electrical systems, or power electronics, including 400V and 800V architectures.
  • Strong Validation and Verification background within automotive or adjacent regulated industries.
  • Working knowledge of hardware and software development lifecycle processes for power electronics systems.
  • Solid understanding of automotive communication protocols including CAN, LIN, Ethernet and diagnostic standards such as UDS and DoIP.
