Permanent 12 Hour Shift Role | £4****7,000 | Worksop AreaA long-established UK manufacturer with multiple nationwide sites is seeking a maintenance engineer to join its high-performing engineering team. Operating from a large, modern facility with over 40 machines, the site runs high-volume production and relies on quick, effective engineering support to keep operations running smoothly.You’ll join an established department led by an experienced Engineering Manager and work alongside a team of multi-skilled maintenance engineers covering both reactive and project-based work. The role is fully reactive, attending breakdowns across a mix of machinery including automated equipment, heating systems, conveyors and production lines. You’ll typically start each shift by reviewing overnight issues, prioritising tasks, and handling 3–4 breakdowns before moving onto small improvement projects.What you’ll be doing:

Responding to machinery breakdowns and prioritising jobs across the site

Electrical work involving motors, drives, contactors, solenoids, sensors, heating bands and control panels

Mechanical work including bearings, rollers and pneumatics

Reading schematics and carrying out electrical tests using a multi meter

Clear communication with production teams to minimise downtime

Supporting ongoing site improvements and installation of new equipment

What we’re looking for:

NVQ Level 3 in Engineering

Strong fault-finding skills (electrical & mechanical)

Experience working as a maintenance engineer in a manufacturing environment

Confidence working autonomously on a busy site

Someone comfortable in a fully reactive environment

About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced, hands-on Maintenance Engineer to join our team following the retirement of our current engineer. This permanent role offers a varied workload across mechanical and electrical maintenance, with additional ad-hoc duties to support the business when engineering work is lighter.You will maintain a wide range of machinery, from older equipment dating back to the 1950s to modern machines installed in 2022. Maintain premises, plant, and machinery to ensure long life, efficient performance, and minimal downtime

Service, maintain, and repair beverage and vending equipment on-site and at customer locations

Assist the caretaker/handyman with general repairs to the premises when engineering work is low

Work on improvements to electrical systems on-site

Maintain PAT records for applicable machinery

Complete accurate and timely documentation for all off-site repairs

Undertake other reasonable ad-hoc duties to support the business during quieter periods

Report directly to the Director and Operations Manager as required
