Electrical Design Engineer

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Design Engineer to for an engineering business in Norwich. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development and lifecycle management of the companies product range, with a focus on analogue and digital circuit designs.Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the Chief Engineer to develop analogue and digital electrical circuit designs.

Create interface and equipment specifications.

Design test specifications for prototypes and production units.

Support interdepartmental testing of equipment.

Assist in creating bid documents and compliance matrices for proposals.

Willingness to travel and work both onshore and offshore.

Present technical information to audiences with varying levels of technical experience.

Work both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications and Experience:Essential:

Experience in circuit and wiring design, simulation, layout, testing, and evaluation

Proficiency in creating interface and equipment specifications

Ability to create test specifications for designs and testing

Familiarity with supporting proposals through bid documents and compliance matrices

Willingness to travel and work offsite

Strong presentation skills for conveying technical information

Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Desirable:

Knowledge of current CE regulations

Perform calibration of primarily electrical test equipment, as well as environmental, pressure, and torque devices.

Conduct fault finding and basic repairs, including soldering where necessary.

Maintain and update the calibration database and filing systems accurately.

Support on-the-job training for junior technicians or colleagues when required.

Assist in the development and improvement of calibration and inspection procedures.

Participate in external and internal audits (e.g., BSI audits).

Liaise effectively with customers and suppliers via telephone and email.

Requirements:

A technical qualification such as Degree, HND, HNC, or NVQ/BTEC Level 3 in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related discipline (preferred).

Extensive calibration experience with a strong electrical bias.

Solid understanding of calibration practices and theories, including analogue and digital circuit analysis.

Competency with Windows-based software; experience using Transmille ProCal and ProCal Track is advantageous but not essential.

Proficient in basic repairs and soldering techniques.

Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, including experience supporting BSI audits.

Must hold a full UK driving licence and be willing to travel occasionally.
