How You Will Make an Impact

Embark on a four-year engineering apprenticeship at Arlas Taw Valleysite, working alongside a team of skilled engineers to maintain, repair and install machinery that powers our production. When issues arise, youll be the problem-solver who keeps lines running and our products flowing, from Cravendale milk to Skyr yoghurt and Anchor butter. Your learning is delivered in structured blocks with*Calderdale Collage,*blending practical and classroom training.

• Carry out maintenance, repairs and installations across automated production equipment
• Support root-cause problem solving and continuous improvement to reduce downtime
• Apply safety-first practices while developing hands-on technical capability
• Build knowledge across processing, packaging and utilities systems
• Progress through structured college blocks and on-site training to achieve qualifications

What Will Make You Successful

Youre 18 or overby September 2026and ready for a hands-on role, bringing a solid educational foundation with at least five GCSEs at grades 94 (A*C), including Maths and English (or the Scottish equivalent). Youre motivated to learn whether thats picking up new skills on the job or sharpening your knowledge in the classroom.

A curious problem-solver at heart, you love figuring out how things work and fixing issues fast. Youre safety-conscious, a clear communicator, and a true team player who collaborates well. Organised and resilient, you can balance structured learning blocks with on-site responsibilities. What Do We Offer?

Salary progression:

Year 1: £21,000 per annum

Year 2: £25,484.71 per annum

Year 3: £26,500 per annum

Year 4: £27,500 per annum

Were looking for a skilledSolar PV Engineerto jump into our solar operations team. If you love hands-on work and keeping solar PV systems running safe, smooth, and efficient, this could be your next gig!

What youll be up to:

• Fixing, testing, and maintaining solar PV systems
• Spotting issues and sorting them out, whether planned or unexpected
• Troubleshooting AC and DC faults like a pro
• Logging your daily wins in our online system
• Keeping sites safe with risk assessments and reporting near misses
• Coordinating contractors and making sure everyone works safely
• Staying up to speed on health, safety, and fire regs
• Being ready for the occasional night away or weekend rota (with extra pay!)

What you bring to the table:

• Level 3 City & Guilds/NVQ in Electrical Installations
• C&G 2382-18 and 2391-52 (or equivalent)
• HV AP qualification
• 3+ years Solar PV O&M experience (ground mount)
• Solid knowledge of AC/DC and HV systems, plus testing gear
• Familiar with CCTV and SCADA systems
• First Aid & Fire Marshal trained (or keen to learn)
• Bonus points for Harness and IOSH quals (we can train!)
