Main Responsibilities

Attend to calls for maintenance (on site and or by telephone) as directed by team co-ordinators

About you

Good attention to detail in order to ensure that all paperwork iscorrectly completed, and procedures are followed within theallotted timescales.
An enthusiastic team player who is able to work well underpressure and maintain a professional approach at all times.

Your New Role

As a Maintenance Engineer / Technician, you will be a key member of the engineering team, working across all shifts where your actions will directly impact our overall site performance. You will carry out maintenance tasks as required, including both attending to breakdowns and routine preventative maintenance programmes in order to minimise machinery downtime.

Whilst on shift your key duties will include, but are not limited to:

Solving reasons for breakdown and undertaking corrective and preventative actions to resolve * Repairs and maintenance of PLC-controlled machinery * The recording and reporting of maintenance activities * Conducting equipment inspections and determine appropriate job work scopes and standards * Creating and maintaining plant history and other technical files to include information in current job plans to anticipate and avoid job delays * Providing technical assistance as required to improve the reliability and performance of the plant’s machinery * Complying with company policies and procedures, inc. Health & Safety Standards * Utilising a computer-based maintenance management system to support the maintenance function.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

In order to be considered for this role you will need to demonstrate the following skills, experience and qualifications:
NVQ Level 3 electrical / maintenance engineering qualification or equivalent.

Essential

Minimum 4 GCSEs including English and Maths at grade C or above, or equivalent * Must be time/skill-served mechanically, electrically advantageous, with Industrial Experience * Experience of fault-finding on automated machinery * Minimum 3 year’s FMCG experience * Ability to read, interpret and apply information from files, mechanical drawings, catalogues, reports, and manuals * Experience of both the installation of new equipment and overhaul of existing equipment * A sound knowledge of control systems, conveyors, mechanical drives, pneumatic and hydraulic systems is essential * Experience of tig welding, turning, milling and fabrication.

Desirable

Knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment in the maintenance of a modern plant * Computer literacy * 5 years experience in a similar role.

Successful candidates will be deployed to work predominately on solar PV projects; however, they will have the opportunity to work on different projects providing electrical support for the following types of technologies:

  • Onshore and offshore wind

Hydroelectric run of river and pumped storage.
Hydrogen production and storage
Battery energy storage systems (BESS)

The successful candidate(s) will join our project teams to deliver a range of feasibility, design, and technical advisory roles. Working on a range of commercial-scale rooftop, carport, floating and ground mount solar PV projects including design services for some of the largest NSIP scale solar PV projects in the UK as well as projects in across Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), some of which will also include energy storage.

Key responsibilities:

  • Designing solar PV systems using PVSol, PVSyst, PVCase or other PV design software.

Responsible for reviewing EPC contractor electrical designs for solar PV, wind, BESS, and wind projects to ensure compliance with Employers Requirements, local regulations, grid codes, and applicable industry standards.
Assessing HV/LV system designs, single line diagrams, protection and control schemes, cable sizing and routing, earthing and lightning protection, and substation interfaces.
Support projects by providing design layout, system specification, cost estimates and technical reports.
Conducting technical site surveys (nationwide).
Attend client meetings and build rapport to coordinate and develop solutions.
Support the commercial team in the preparation of technical submission documents and tenders, from a technical perspective.
Uphold a robust health and safety culture across the company.
Gain and maintain knowledge of the latest Electrical Codes.
Engineering technical excellence and pride in work and project outcomes.
Application of BS 7671 wiring regulation and IET CoP for solar PV installations.

  • BEng/MEng Electrical Engineering Degree

Drivers license to enable access to remote sites
Proven track record and experience in the design, specification or construction of renewable energy projects as a consultant or EPC contractor.
Ability to produce formal reports and documents.
Highly motivated, able to work independently, diligent and with an eye for detail.
Looking to achieve a chartership in their chosen institute.
Knowledge of LV and HV electrical system design from feasibility through to detailed design, including preparation or review of single line diagrams, schematics and general arrangement drawings
Familiarity with relevant IEC and national standards, design codes and grid compliance requirements.
Awareness of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM) and/or Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act.
Experience with CAD software packages, and ability to produce detailed AUTOCAD drawings including Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) and site layouts.
Proficient with Microsoft Office. Including high proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Location: Northern Ireland -Based (Secure Production Environment)

Hours: Rotating shifts (06:00–14:00 / 07:00–15:00, Mon–Fri)

Electro-Mechanical Engineer required to join a global leader in secure technology solutions.

This is a hands-on maintenance role working within secure production environments, focused on planned maintenance, breakdown repair and fault finding on production machinery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
  • Reactive breakdown repair
  • Electrical fault finding (including single-phase HV)
  • Mechanical maintenance (motors, gears, bearings, encoders, clutches)
  • Installation & commissioning support
  • Root cause analysis
  • Stock control & maintenance documentation

Requirements

  • Strong mechanical maintenance background (essential)
  • Electrical fault-finding experience
  • Ability to work independently
  • Computer literate (Excel, Word, Windows)
  • Electrical/Mechanical qualification (desirable)
  • Control systems knowledge (advantageous)

Brook Street is currently working with a well-established client in Belfast to recruit a Fire & Security Engineer to join their growing and supportive team.

The Role

As a Fire & Security Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, servicing, and maintenance of a range of fire alarm and security systems, including both addressable and conventional systems. All work must be carried out in line with current regulatory standards, with the completion and sign-off of relevant certification.
You’ll work across a range of client sites delivering a high-quality, reliable service, while ensuring systems remain compliant and fully operational.

Systems & Equipment

You may work with a range of industry-leading equipment including:

  • Apollo detection systems
  • Fire alarm panels such as Advanced, Morley, C-Tec, Kentec, Ampac, and Gent
  • Security systems including CCTV and Access Control

What We’re Looking For

We’re keen to speak with engineers who:

  • Have at least 2 year’s experience in a Fire & Security engineering role
  • Have experience working with fire alarm systems
  • Must hold BFPSA, FIA, or BS5839 training
  • Must have knowledge of CCTV or access control systems
  • Hold a full UK driving licence

You will also participate in an on-call rota, so flexibility is required.
