Morson are working with the UK’s leading defence manufacturer who are looking for a Quality Engineer to join the team at the Glascoed site.

Typical duties:

  • Review Shop Floor records (e.g. ‘SMDCP’ documents), ‘First Off’ items for Quality Dept. approval, technical specifications, drawings, and endorse Certificates of Conformity as an approved signatory.
  • Perform Internal Audits, support External Audits, and support the development of audit responses and robust corrective actions which prevent identified problems from ever happening again.
  • Monitor and analyse reject, rework, and RFT data, and present information to management
  • Monitor and support non-conformance / quality issue management (‘CAR’, ‘Q1’, ‘Q2’, ‘Q3’, etc.)
  • Drive and support targeted CI (Continuous Improvement) activities, focussing on
  • (A) Reduced Rejects and Costs
  • (B) Improved operational workflows, throughput, and efficiency

Knowledge

  • Excellent numeracy and mechanical comprehension.
  • ISO 9001 Internal auditor certification.
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably of a similarly highly controlled nature (aerospace, automotive, nuclear, medical devices, etc.)

Skills

Key Responsibilities

Coordination:

  • Coordinate Cyber Security innovation across the business to maximise alignment.
